MANILA, Philippines – A 38-year-old man accidentally fell into a manhole near his eatery shop on Friday night in Diliman, Quezon City.

Rescuers are trying to locate Gomer Beltrano, who went through the manhole and into a 20-foot drainage canal located along Sgt. Esguerra Street.

Beltrano and his companions were reportedly pulling out a piece of wood wedged between the concrete manhole covers.

The concrete cover on which Beltrano was stepping on suddenly flipped over, causing the victim to fall.

“Ang nangyari ay pag-apak niya sa takip na iyon ay nalaglag po siya,” said his sister Criselda.

Beltrano was closing down his eatery shop when the incident happened.
