Arum sees positive changes in Pacquiao
Top Rank exec says Pacman looks 'sensational'
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing promoter Bob Arum said a renewal in faith has brought positive changes to Manny Pacquiao.
Arum said Pacquiao, who recently declared that he’s shunning the life of vices, has a positive glow in him which, in turn, improved his training.
“Manny looks sensational," he said on RingTV. “I've never seen him physically look the way that he does.”
"The fact that he's living a good life now is really beginning to show in his demeanor, and in his face, and in the way that he's carrying himself."
Arum said that in the past, Pacquiao engaged late-night basketball games, gambling and partying.
He said Pacquiao’s “extra-curricular” activities took their toll on the Filipino’s health.
"Certainly, he was leading a life of gambling, and the apartment was always like a carnival," said the promoter.
"But it's totally different now. He's got a youth about him and he just looks more healthy than I've ever seen him."
The Filipino icon certainly needs to be in tip top shape on June 9 when he faces Timothy Bradley.
Pacquiao will stake his WBO welterweight belt and his reputation against the young and unbeaten American fighter.
